Don’t forget the Bugs & Us presentation tomorrow, Sunday, September 16th, 2012, at the Okanagan Centre Hall (11099 Maddock Avenue, Okanagan Centre). Doors open at 1 p.m. and the lecture begins at 1:30 p.m. Dr. Ward Strong will discuss the variety and importance of insects in the Okanagan and amaze you with his collection of insect photographs. Copies of his photographs and photographic notecards will be available for purchase.
Admission to the presentation is by donation.
Following the presentation you are invited to walk over to the Lake Country Museum where we will host a reception to honour the Harvey family who so generously donated our insect collection. At this time we will also be introducing our new exhibit cases which display these local insects. These beautiful cases were built by Museum volunteer Kevin Dooley.
We’ve had a few people visiting already and the children, especially, are intrigued by the specimens on display — especially the butterflies and the spiders!
